Born from Real Challenges

GeoTrack emerged from the Robotics and Aviation Summit — an initiative designed to bridge the gap between industry needs and technical innovation. The goal was to accelerate the introduction of new solutions by working with aviation partners to identify clear operational challenges and then rapidly developing a prototype.

Airport operations presented a critical need: precise tracking and documentation of de-icer fluid application on runways and taxiways. Safety requirements demand accurate coverage, regulatory compliance requires detailed records, and cost management benefits from optimized fluid usage. While the core tech existed, a focused solution was lacking - until now.

“A primary goal of the workshop was to show how quickly an issue can be addressed when the need is clearly defined. This focus enabled us to deploy a viable product in a matter of months."

The FormicaProtoFab Approach

FormicaProtoFab specializes in harnessing advanced technology to deliver straightforward, cost-effective systems that provide genuine value. The development of GeoTrack exemplifies this philosophy: combining GPS positioning, sensor integration, and data management into a flexible platform that solves immediate needs while remaining adaptable to other applications.

Looking Forward

While runway de-icing remains our flagship application, the core technology proved broadly applicable. The same GPS-driven data collection and sensor integration that tracks de-icer coverage can monitor paint application, document chemical spraying, verify grounds maintenance, and countless other fleet-based operations.

This versatility wasn't accidental—it resulted from building a robust platform rather than a single-purpose tool. By focusing on reliable data collection, flexible sensor integration, and practical data management, GeoTrack serves diverse operational needs across multiple industries.
